Kdenlive - Cosmetic Issue
« on: December 18, 2013, 04:39:13 PM »
Hi - Would be great if Kdenlive, in a upcoming AVL Release, could offer a dark theme such as wontong soup. I believe that it's common sense now dark themes are better suited for such tasks.

I installed Breeze Default Plasma (meta-package) and it has a Breeze Dark theme in Kdenlive which is pretty good as an alternative to wonton soup

Hi,

Kdenlive and KDE will not be included in the next ISO release, unfortunately I have not been able to complete even one video project with the new versions of Kdenlive without numerous crashes so I feel until it is as stable as the previous 0.9.10 version there is no point carry all the bulk of Kdenlive+KDE to simply run a single video editor.

There will be Blender (supposedly a great NLE with a learning curve) and 2 versions of Cinelerra.

I edit HD video all the time in Cinelerra, despite it's (outdated) bad reputation I find it crashes far less than Kdenlive and handles HD video on my modest old Q6600 without any need for proxies, if time permits I may do a screencast tutorial on my Cinelerra workflow. I sincerely wish Kdenlive was more stable... it LOOKS amazing, it WAS amazing and perhaps it WILL be amazing again but it seems to be in a state of uncertainty right now.

I don't do any video editing, but I admire your quality control, GMaq, so if a program is not up to snuff, I fully support leaving it off the ISO and letting individual users decide if they want to install it.  Keep it lean, and keep up the excellent work!
